Where did you grow up?
I grew up and was raised at various places in India. I did my primary and high school in Mumbai, and undergraduate in Delhi.
What is your educational/professional background?
I received a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Delhi and my Masters in Electrical Engineering with minor in Physics at Georgia Tech.
What non-work activities do you most enjoy?
I love playing music, I have a guitar and synthesizer that I play on often at home to unwind. I also love photography.
Describe your interests in the Digital Media field.
Currently, my main interest lies at the intersection of Digital Media and Education, particularly STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education.
What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on so far? Why?
It’s called ‘Particle In A Box’. We are still working on improving it, but loosely, it is a game that helps students learn Quantum Mechanics. This project has allowed me to develop my educational design skills, my coding skills, my leadership skills and even my presentation skills! We presented our game last year in Orlando at the annual “Serious Games Challenge” and won the “Student‘s choice award” there, so it’s certainly moving in a good direction. But there is so much more we can do!

Why did you choose Georgia Tech as your college?
I found the professors here very amenable to collaboration (that is how I managed to even begin my aforementioned favorite project). I was able to start working in Digital media, even though I was still in Electrical Engineering and I did not feel left out even once.
What are your ambitions after finishing the DM program?
I would love to continue to work in educational design after I graduate, I am open to going wherever I get such an opportunity as faculty or in industry.
Why would you recommend the DM program to others?
The professors are open to collaboration and flexible with numerous project directions. The peers you will be in classes with have varied backgrounds which leads to some very interesting exchange of perspectives in class discussions. Thus, the program can be molded to your fields interests easily.
