PhD student Anna Weisling to perform at Electric LaTex Festival

Digital Media PhD student Anna Weisling will be performing a piece for live audio and visuals at this year’s Electric LaTex Festival. LaTex is an annual electronic music festival involving Louisiana State University, Tulane University, Texas A&M, the University of North Texas, and others. This year’s festival will be held at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and feature many new electro-acoustic and experimental works.

Anna Weisling focuses on the relationship between audio and video and the performance possibilities shared by both. She explores the gestural and “musical” possibilities of live visual performance and the role of video in modern performance settings. Her areas of interest include instrument design, performance and collaborative practices, and new media technology.
