Adriana Alvaro Garcia, PhD student at the Digital Media program, was recently selected as a Data Fellow by the United Nation. The Data Fellows program was launched by UN Global Pulse and connects doctoral researchers with UN entities. It is a match-making process where the UN identifies PhD candidates with specific expertise in AI, data science, computational social science or data and design who are interested in to putting their skills to use for the common good.
Adriana was one of the eight researchers selected to dedicate next year working with the UN. Two weeks ago she took part in a workshop in the UN Headquarters for in-person introductions and discussions around the topic of their project.
