Health Resources

Attending Georgia Tech can be overwhelming sometimes. Luckily, there are many resources on and near campus that are dedicated to helping students, faculty, and staff tend to their health and well-being.

CARE

CARE (Center for Assessment, Referral, and Education) is the primary resource for mental health support at Georgia Tech. Students seeking assistance from the Counseling Center or Stamps Psychiatry need to visit CARE first for a primary assessment and referral to on and off campus mental health and well-being resources.

Crisis Hotline

For mental health crises, if you are experiencing a crisis that requires immediate attention, you may speak with a counselor at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students who are experiencing an immediate life-threatening emergency on campus, call the Georgia Tech Campus Police at 404-894-2500. If off campus, please immediately call 911.

Distress

A set of guidelines for identifying whether someone is in distress and resources that can help to relieve them.

Sexual Assault

Sexual assault is a widespread and systemic issue on all college campuses, including Georgia Tech.  Being informed is empowering and enables you to be a resource to friends and colleagues. We can all be a part of the solution.

We are proud to partner with VOICE, Georgia Tech’s sexual assault prevention and response initiative in the Office of Health Initiatives.  This is a campus-wide initiative founded on the premise that everyone has the right to live and learn at Georgia Tech, free of violence or the threat of violence.

Suicide Prevention

The Georgia Tech Counseling Center and the Division of Student Life are leading a new initiative in suicide prevention, Tech Ends Suicide Together, a bold and aspirational plan based on an international initiative that represents a paradigm shift from suicide prevention to suicide elimination.

STAR

STAR (Students’ Temporary Assistance and Resources) is an organization that provides stability for students to pursue a fulfilling college experience. It provides assistance with obtaining food, finances, clothing, housing, and connections, and ensures that all students have the resources to attend Georgia Tech in a feasible way.
