On October 3rd, PhD student Anna Weisling premiered a new piece for tactical flashlight and webcam at the Fifth Annual Electroacoustic Barn Dance at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Accompanied by musician Eric Sheffield on the drone-inducing augmented instrument aptly referred to as the “doom fork,” the piece challenges the performers to give life to the work using the most basic principles of shape, color, sound, and movement, and explore the possibilities afforded by such finite resources. Warning: strobes.
